The smell of a late winter tells of dry leaves and pine resin. In this Tuscan wood, not far from the sea, balsamic notes of Scots pine arrive. I stay indoors, between the wooden walls and the fire that crackles with its high flames. A spiced herbal tea with cloves, softened by vanilla beans, warms me. The warmth of home, which is expressed in this way.
